Phalcon Overland 60 Qt Fridge Review

Phalcon Overland 60 Qt Fridge Review

Matthew Massari
Personally, I went back and fourth between dropping coin on a Yeti or buying a fridge.

When I finally realized the benefits of a fridge, I didn’t realize that then my decision would become so much harder deciding just which fridge to go with.

I’ve always wanted to support local and support the little guy and luckily for me, After some internet research I found a company called @Phalconoverland.

They are located here in San Diego.
Phalcon Overland actually focus on making Overland Trailers but they have Released a fridge line and they have been blowing up.

So, Here is my review:

This review is for my E60 fridge.

Upon first review, the fridges look very close to the Amazon Alpicool Brand.

Essentially, they took a brand with some cool ideas and made it better.

I started with their 75 Dual Zone prototype and when their initial shipment came in I picked up the E60.

WHAT IS THE PHALCON OVERLAND E60?
The E60 is a 60qt single zone (meaning only one temperature option) Fridge/Freezer.

The reason i picked this particular Fridge was for two main reasons.
1.The Size. Having the short bed Tacoma, I knew I had to limit the size of the fridge. I also knew I wanted to mount my air-tank behind the fridge as well.
The 75 was a bit to long and i didn’t really utilize the dual zone. However for someone with much longer trips, the dual Zone may be a better option.

2. Battery Backup. You heard that right! The E60 has an additional battery (purchased separately) that can run the fridge for almost another day.
Something to remember about these fridges is though the LED screen is on all the time, the compressor is only running to keep the fridge at temp. So depending on your settings, you can control the +/- threshold in when when it turns on and off.

Personally, I’ve used this fridge In Calico when it’s 110 and I’ve also used this fridge in 14 Degree temps.

Due to where it’s mounted, I just run the fridge off of the factory 120v plug in the bed. Each fridge comes with both a 12V adapter as well as a 120V plug.

Typically when running all day, by the time I wake up in the morning, the fridge is still holding just as cold as the night before. (This was without the battery) Occasionally i would have to let my truck run to make sure the fridge could keep cool but when the sun would go down and the extreme temps would go away it held very well.

Some key features this Particular model has are pretty awesome. First, the lid is reversible and removable. So the fridge can be accessed from either side and when cleaning is needed you can remove the lid completely. Secondly, their are bottle openers formed into the mold. This has been helpful a few times! Lol. Lastly their is a USB charging port on the front of the fridge as well!

The features above are just features of this exact model, BUT Phalcon Overland has some features in every fridge that come standard. These are listed below.

1. Total Bluetooth Connectivity.
This allows you to control temperature, low voltage cutoff, temperature shut on and shut off, and more.

2. In manufacturing, Phalcon Overland knew they had to make these more reliable than a standard Chinese fridge. They added LG compressors in every fridge. They come with a factory 3 year warranty.

I’ve had my fridge almost a year (not including the prototype) and let me say I’ve put this thing through the paces. As it’s mounted in my bed and I never remove it, it’s been through Car washes, blizzards, hail and rainstorms, crazy dust in the desert, and so much more. Not one time has this fridge let me down. I will never buy another brand. There really is no need to spend so much money on an ARB or some of the other name brands out there.
